It might sound unbelievable, but a single live show can require hundreds of heavy CO₂ gas cylinders. These take up valuable backstage space, complicate transport logistics, and add unnecessary costs and coordination for the event team, all for what is essentially a simple visual effect.
At MAGIC FX, we started asking the obvious question: Isn't there a better way? That question sparked the creation of the ECO2JET, a revolutionary new system that delivers the same powerful white smoke blast as a traditional CO2JET, but with zero gas bottles, less weight, and independent of humidity. Perfect for show professionals.

Every great product starts with a vision. We recognized the problems with CO₂ gas bottles and began developing a solution that would transform how special effects professionals incorporate CO₂ effects into their events.
From concept to creation: our R&D journey
Our journey to develop the ECO2JET took us through multiple innovation phases:
Initial concepts
The development of the ECO2JET, like many pioneering innovations, began with a rough sketch and a clear goal. The very first prototypes were far from sophisticated, a collection of 3D-printed parts, wooden frames and duct tape. The focus was not on aesthetics, but on replicating the iconic white smoke plume that CO2-jets are known for: powerful, direct and visually impressive.
Prototype development
We built and tested dozens of versions. Eventually, we found the right combination: a strong heating element, turbo fan, and custom nozzle. With our own water-based fluid, we achieved the same powerful effect, shooting smoke up to 12 meters, even in dry outdoor conditions.
Refinement & field testing
After internal testing (drop, rain, durability), it was time for field use. A small group of clients tested the ECO2JET at real events. Seeing the product live on stage before it was even launched was a proud moment. However, feedback showed it still wasn’t compact enough. That sent us back to the drawing board.
Final adjustments
By moving the fluid canister outside the machine and adding accessories like the 2L Attachable Fluid Can, we made the ECO2JET smaller and more flexible.
What began as a rough prototype in the lab is now a refined, high-performance machine, trusted on the biggest stages, built for the future of events.

Use the fully rotated ECO2JET brachet to angle the unit, or to mount it in a truss under all angles.
